Efrain Coronado
Regional Clinical Dental Director for the Georgia dental offices
My name is Efrain Coronado, I am 52 years old, I have been happily married to Estefania Coronado for 20 years and we have four beautiful children, Natasha, Julian, Samuel, and Victoria. We currently live in Cumming, Georgia and are active parishioners at St. Brendan the Navigator Catholic Church.
I was born in Colombia, and moved to United States when I was 13 years old. I have lived in many different places, such as Colombia, and here in the U.S. in states such as Kansas, upstate New York, Baltimore Maryland, and Florida. Before recently moving to Georgia about 3 1/2 years ago, I lived in Florida for about 20 years. Living in different places has provided me with the opportunity to learn and experience different cultures, ways of thinking, learn about others as well as to know myself better. I enjoy playing tennis, board games, traveling, and trying different ethnic foods.
Professionally, I am a general dentist, currently practicing for a group practice with offices in the states of Florida and Georgia. I was currently promoted to Regional Clinical Dental Director for the Georgia dental offices. I enjoy my profession very much, because I can use my hands to fix the teeth of people and see the quality of their lives improve. I enjoy the topic of bringing my faith to my profession, integrating science and faith. I am passionate about formation and how faith helps me to be a better professional and a better person.
Following my interest in formation and living the faith, I began asking myself how to I could reach out to others through what I knew what to do, dentistry. In 2009 I founded Missions of Love, a humanitarian apostolate to bring to the underserved people of Colombia the Love of God through dentistry, medicine, technical workshops, games and joy. I genuinely felt many times that I was receiving more than what I gave. It is through giving that one learns, grows, and becomes more fully human.
Spiritually, I believe it is a constant effort, and cultivating a personal relationship with Christ is important to give meaning and order to all facets of my life. In my faith journey I have participated by receiving spiritual direction, retreats, faith based activities, led several ministries, taught classes, and obtained a masters degree in Theology in 2019 from St. Paul Regional Seminary in Boyton Beach, Florida. I have also studied in diverse courses in formation through the University of Dayton, Ohio.
The intellectual formation has helped me to know more the person of Christ, and how He has worked through history and how He becomes present in my own life. But as I began to know Jesus more and respond to His call, I felt the need to be able to share Him with others. This is what brings me to The Collective Mentorship. My hope is to be able to share Christ with others and help others bring Christ more intentionally into our daily activities and work. Christ allows us to be better humans, better men, and as such, hopefully share my successes and shortcomings, so others can learn from it. I believe God will help me continue to learn and grow as well through the Timothy Collective. It is Christ who is present among us when two or more are present. Learning and growing into Christ is a life long endeavor.
I joined Regnum Cristi on November 13, 2022. It is my leadership skills and my interest in human formation that I can contribute to others. But above all, I would like to contribute my effort in living out the faith. It is not easy, I have failures and struggles, but also successes and wins. It is a constant battle, and in sharing my living example, I intend to support others and contribute to an apostolate that is mutually beneficial and helps build the kingdom of Christ.
